Mission Course at TEC for more than 50 church leaders

IMG_087253 church leaders from the Southern Synods of EECMY came to TEC for a four day course on Mission. TEC wants to support and work together with the synods and congregations of EECMY by offering short term courses in addition to the regular programs.

We asked some Mission and Theology Department Directors from different synods what they though of the course, and how TEC can be a partner for their synod and congregations in the future:

Rev. Mulugeta Shewarega from Wabe Batu Synod: This course is in line with EECMY five year strategic plan that encourages us to become a missional church. Our church focuses too much inward. This course inspires us to reach out. TEC is educating our ministers. We will continue to send students and support TEC. We will make TEC more known in our synod.

Ev. Asale Abraham from Amaro Synod: I am very happy for this course. This course is focusing on one of the main objectives of EECMY; To be a Missional Church. At the same time, it is great to be here in Hawassa, to meet other evangelists and to be refreshed.I will inform and inspire people in my synod about mission, and about TEC so they feel ownership to the school.

Ato Angama Angassa from South West Synod: I am IMS coordinator in my synod, and this course has been very inspiring for me. Now I can also inspire the congregations for mission. TEC has shown that they are partners with us by organizing such a course that brings us together. This course gives us a common way forward. I hope TEC will be a mission school that can educate many missionaries for the mission field. We will continue to send students to TEC.

Rev. Shewangizaw from South Synod: I have seen anew the great calling of the church to preach the gospel to all peoples. I have got some key points on Missional Leadership that will change my way of understanding the call of the church. We have also had good times of prayer for unreached areas. This course gives us a vision to reach the world! We want TEC to grow. We have many well organized prayer groups in our synod. We will pray for TEC and for TEC to grow. We will help people think of TEC as their own, and we will encourage them to support TEC.

After completing the course, the participants received diplomas from Principal Ato Tamrat Taddele and Vice Chairperson of the TEC board Qes Dawit Yohannes:
